ROBINS – April 8th – 12th

The Robins are out of this world!
Space, the solar system, sun, and stars! Take a look

Our letter this week was “S” for sun. We used salad spinners (and a fair amount of muscle and  motor control) to create sun-inspired artwork.

Our sensory table was filled with astronauts, rocket ships, and “moon rocks”…

Solar system puzzles require concentration, logical reasoning, and often times teamwork…

Glitter and black watercolors transformed normal play dough into galaxy dough…

Star themed counting and number recognition….

Stencils are a great way to practice good writing habits, like the use of the “helping hand”. This week we used stencils to trace images on black construction paper and then outlined it with star stickers to create our very own constellations…

The Robins have really gotten into the space theme and we’ve seen it inspire their art in different ways…

We’ve had so much fun learning about our solar system, the Robins have decided to recreate it on a bulletin board. This week we painted our space background and collaged our sun.

Next week we will focus on learning about the different planets and making representations of them for the bulletin board, as well as lots of other hands-on learning.

Thanks for reading!
