ROBINS – February 11 – 14th

This week in the Robins class was all about Valentine’s Day, hearts, love, & kindness. Take a look!

One of our primary objectives in our classroom is to build a caring community of learners. We thought Valentine’s Day would be a great time to discuss what it means to be caring. We started out the week by reading the book, Heartprints, which talks about the importance of kindness.

Afterwards, we worked on “heartprint” art using doilies and watercolors.

Later on in the week, we experimented with using bingo daubers to paint hearts…

Heart tic-tac-toe! It’s always so fun watching the Robins practicing strategical thinking and examining possible outcomes.

We read the fantastic Valentine’s story, The Day It Rained Hearts. This art project, inspired by the book, involved counting the number of hearts used.

Marble painting is always a favorite!

This week the Robins got really creative using a variety of materials ( magazine clippings, confetti, tissue paper, etc.) to create collages…

After weeks of counting down the days, Valentine’s Day finally came! The party was too much fun…

We passed out Valentines…

& enjoyed some tasty treats. This year we opted for a red & pink fruit salad & the Robins loved it!

Special thanks to all the families that contributed items and took time out of their days to celebrate with the Robins. You guys are AMAZING!

Until next week,
Miss Crystal & Miss Julie
