ROBINS – Lemonade, Lentils, Lamb & Liver

“When life hands you lemons, make lemonade!

If life hands me lemons I’ll squeeze them good and hard.

Then add some sugar, stir it up and sell it from our yard.”

From the book:  My Momma Likes to Say by Denise Brennan-Nelson

One of our Robin friends brought this book to share with us.
We laughed and enjoyed the book so very much!

The first step to making lemonade is squeezing the lemons.

After squeezing lots of lemons we mixed our lemon juice (one and a quarter cups, about 8 to 10 lemons) with 4 cups cold water and put it in the refrigerator.  Then we combined 2/3 cup of lemon peel, one and a half cups hot water and two cups of sugar.  We stirred and stirred until the sugar dissolved.   Then we put it in the refrigerator until it was cold.  Finally, we added the lemon juice and cold water.

“Lemons are very sour and yet they are used to make something very sweet and delicious . . .
LEMONADE!”
